Earth Day was April 22, and to bring attention to it I decided to conduct a survey about Earth Day awareness. My question was, "Did you do anything to celebrate Earth Day this week?" Here are my results:
Thirty-two students took part in my survey. For more than half of them, Earth Day was a new idea: 56% had never heard of Earth Day. I hope they will take some time to learn more about environmental issues.
On the other hand, 40% of the students questioned said that although they didn't attend an Earth Day event, they were interested in trying to live in a more environmentally-friendly way from now on. That's good news.
Twenty-one percent of those who participated said that they are now using an eco-bag when they do their shopping. Excellent!! Bringing your own shopping bag whenever you shop is an easy way to help reduce plastic bag pollution. If you don't know what that is, look at the You-Tube video by Save the Bay in San Francisco.
None of the 32 participants celebrated Earth Day by holding a "candle night" party. Why don't you try it next year... or next week! Invite a few friends over and serve dinner by candle light! A fun way to remind each other about the importance of saving electricity.
And finally, one person did attend a special event to celebrate Earth Day. I wonder what they did!

Bring eco-bags is very good way to save the Earth! When I go shopping, I bring my eco-bag too!
