Gorilla - Noriyuki Matsumae

There were a lot of gorillas in the forests. Hunters caught them. Hunters thought that sold gorillas and got money. One day, one gorilla broke from the cage and escaped somewhere. This gorilla could understand people’s languages and speak them, so it escaped to help gorillas. One gorilla could escape the place where lives people. Gorilla saw a police officer. Gorilla said “Could you help us?” The police officer was surprised because usually, animals cannot speak language as you know. A police officer was composed and said “Where is your friends?” “In the forests near there.” “OK.” One police officer called his companions and went to the forests. Police officers found hunters and arrested them. Gorillas who were caught by them were released.

Gorilla’s Escape Tactics!! - Taro Goto

Gorillas are living in the place the protection of nature. However there is so boring for gorillas, so gorillas think about how to escape form there. Gorillas think a lot of strategies, but gorillas can’t find good way to escape from there, so gorillas don’t think about that. Gorillas appeal to all gorillas in there. All gorillas are in union. All gorillas prepare themselves. At night, most prison guards are finished their works and time to go to bed. A few prison guards are still working. Then all gorillas try to escape all together. Gorillas are scattered all over the place. All gorillas run and run and run. On the way, one gorillas group are found out by one prison guard, but they dispose that prison guard quickly and silently. Other gorillas groups are shot a gun by prison guards, but gorillas don’t abandon to escape from there. Then all gorillas arrive in front of the outside, but there are big walls tower high over the gorillas. A little bit to be free. All gorillas are struggling for escape from there. Gorillas attack that walls very hard, but that walls are so hard and tall. Gorillas do anything’s that gorillas can do. However that walls can withstand any gorillas attacks, but gorillas still attack hard to that walls, but still that walls can withstand. Then all gorillas perceive that walls can’t break eternally. All gorillas abandon to escape form there. All gorillas must live in there unfortunately.

Gorilla's Child's Interest - Kensei Shimizu

That happened in the safari camp of Africa. In the part of tour, man tried to take a movie of gorillas that he loved very much. Therefore when he arrived to that spot, then he exited to meet gorillas & started to take movie of gorillas because when he arrived there, there were one family of gorillas. He took it from beside the animal trail and they tried to pass the road. His friend couldn’t go to there because he tried to take picture of “gorilla turning the corner,” so we can know “How did man take a movie” from his friend’s movie. A man tried to not move, like a “thing” and grabbed his camera when he noticed that gorillas were coming closer. Suddenly he noticed something soft was touching him, then he couldn’t be excited as usual, because the boss gorilla was coming closer. Therefore only one thing that he could do was to act like a corpse because animal with baby is very easy to get angry and it’s weight is about 180kg. Whatever, we couldn’t know “What happened” from a movie of You Tube because we couldn’t watch the “after part” of movie that silver back coming to him. There might be cruel scene, so Ms. Pichett might not want us to watch that scenes or there might be no scene of that because his friend didn’t want us to show or there might be no movie to show because the camera’s lens was broken by the silver back and the man might need help to save the life. Whatever, I could know it is very dangerous to go closer to animal’s baby or infants, so it is very easy way to watch the animal movies on the National Geographic’s TV programs & You Tube’s movie. In past, watching animal program with easy listening music makes me sleep, but I could realized that it was very horrible thing to take movie.

A Gorilla Story - Taylor Wyatt

The humans began to surround my family and I as we were hunting for food in the forest that morning. It was hot out with a cool breeze, perfect for tourists; I have been around long enough to realize that when the weather is good, the more dangerous it is. They were coming from all sides with bright flashing lights. I could feel their electric energy radiating from their bodies and I knew it was time for my family and I to leave before it got dangerous. I ushered everyone to the front, assuming the male role at the back and could feel the humans’ excitement increase as they caught sight of my silver back. As we walked up the path it was obvious that there were more humans ahead and the ones behind were following us, I could smell them. This kind of attention was normal for me but it was very foreign to the young ones. I could see fear but also curiosity in their eyes as they were discovering something new. I noticed our group slowing down and realized the human squatting near the bushes trembling with fear and excitement as the young gorillas approached him. One of my children worked up the courage to extend his hind legs while resting his paws on the man’s arm, sniffing and educating himself on the strange creature. My first instinct was to get everyone as far away from them as possible, but I soon realized that this man was harmless and no threat to anyone, especially me. Feeling more comfortable we surrounded the man with ease, which seemed to excite the spectators and the flashing increased rapidly. I could feel it making the cubs nervous, as they didn’t know how to react to this kind of attention. Pulling the young ones off the man I gave a loud grunt, silencing the humans and sending a wave of fear through them. Signaling to my group that it was time to leave we started to head off deep into the forest. Just as I could feel the humans relax and inch forward to follow I gave one last grunt, warning them that they should stay away.

Many would say the crisp mountain air or the mossy green trees that seem to crawl up the mountain would be refreshing. Not that Anthony found this all too exciting, slumping as she got dragged along (quite literally and fugitively) on this ‘adventure’ with a spoiled brat of an English pirate. The ropes around her wrist were crimson as it dug into her skin and soon enough by noon her wrist started to bleed – she could tell by the sudden metallic smell; She’d long lost feeling in them. She could just hear the smugness in his voice when he had said: “You’re wrists must hurt love, we could tie it somewhere else if you like,” She tried slapping him senseless at his comment only to being carried on his shoulder. The crunch of the fallen leaves, branches and only god knows what else kept going through the air she’d learned to tune that out long ago, it probably scarred away any near by animals. The roar of the crunch was a little be less now they’d lost a few men to wild cats, animals, pit falls or just pissing off the captain. Arthur could always surprise her on how cruel he could be – she wasn’t any different however, she just pretended she was better. Anthony had that joy of throwing harsh words at Arthur and the consequences being minimal if any at all. Arthur had the honor of doing a task for the queen something that required him to bring back a silver back gorilla; She just had bad luck and ended up being there at the wrong time at the wrong place. Two birds with one stone get an infamous pirate (which so happened to be a girl) with a high price on her head and get his job done while at it. “Alright love you can wait here, and that ain’t a suggestion either.” Arthur said putting Anthony down on the stump rather forcefully and walked in the opposite direction. Anthony sighed shooting Arthur a rather nasty glare and kept looking around. Once Arthur had disappeared from sight a small gorilla had made it’s way onto her lap by her surprise.

15 Minutes of Magic - Sean Vincent

“Oh, no way John, no way”, whispered my friend Alex from across the path. His disbelief was rightly placed, as neither of us had believed we would ever even get close to one of these beautiful, wild creatures. But here I was, two or three feet away, and praying for dear life. I had been camped on a rock for the past few hours, mostly taking film of birds, lizards, and other things like that while waiting to catch footage of the native wild silverback gorillas. Then, in what seemed to me like an instant, the father gorilla came lumbering down the path toward me, his juvenile children in tow. As I sat there, as still as a tree, the first thing I felt was fear. With his powerful looking tree trunk arms, and his hulking physique, he could kill me in less than a second if he wanted to. But he didn’t, and I didn’t think he was going to. The calm atmosphere he seemed to exude calmed me down slightly, that is, until he walked right next to me and sat down directly behind me. The calmness that had been created by his presence was shattered the moment he left my field of view. This new fear was perhaps even stronger than the last. An old saying I had once heard popped into mind, going something like “The fear you know isn’t as bad as the fear you don’t”. This fear of the unknown kept me in petrified silence and stillness for what seemed like eons. However, this feeling too, was swatted away, as fast as it took for the gorilla to reach out its hand and pluck a small insect that had nestled itself in my hair. Hat moment brought with it the greatest sense of relief I’ve ever felt, along with disbelief, admiration, and to top it all, elation at still being alive. As the gorilla picked out another insect, I shot my friend Alex a look as if to say: “You’d better be filming all this”. He nodded slowly back at me, the largest grin I’ve ever seen stretching across his face. As the gorilla picked the last insect out of my hair, he stood up slowly, supporting himself on his knuckles. He let out a short grunting noise, which made me jump, and was a signal to his children to finish up and leave as well. As he left with his children in a neat little line, I breathed the largest sigh of relief I’ve ever done. The feeling that followed was similar to the satisfaction of finishing a large and complicated presentation successfully, but multiplied thousands of times. The gorillas having left, I noticed for the first time that my heart had been pounding in my chest the whole time, and that I was covered in sweat. When they were out of eye and earshot, I tiptoed over to my cameraman, Alex, and whispered, “Did you just see that?” “See what?” whispered Alex back jokingly. “Of course I saw, and it’s all on film too!” said Alex, now slightly louder and more excited-sounding. “I could kiss you right now for what we just captured!” he continued. We continued talking in hush tones for the next half-hour, mostly about our amazement at the events that had just unfolded. Then, very abruptly, he asked quite a serious question. “What was it like?” he asked. “It was like…” I said, unsure of the right words to describe it. After a brief pause, I continued: “it was like…magic I guess”. “What do you mean?” asked Alex with a puzzled look on his face. “It was like, you know…” I began slowly, “how you know it can’t be real, but you can’t deny that it’s happening”. “Every sense in your body is telling you that it’s there, but you still can’t believe that it is”, I elaborated. “Anyway”, I said, changing the subject abruptly, “we should probably show this film to someone fast”. “Agreed”, he said, nodding his head lightly. Someone once said that a person is most easily changed when they are under great stress, and I couldn’t agree more. After that day, I looked at every rock, tree, bird, insect and plant in a whole new way, as if someone had opened my eyes to an entire world that I had been missing before. Neither of us have forgotten that day, and we’ve never let go of the magic that silverback gorilla created for us.

Touched by a Wild Mountain Gorilla - Vanessa Froese

It was a hot summer’s day and I was looking forward to seeing animals that I have never seen before on this amazing African Safari. I was walking through the jungle, exploring, trying to find an interesting animal to observe when I saw them, a whole family of gorillas. They were only about five meters to my right. My heart started to smack hard against my ribs, and I froze. I realized that the gorillas hadn’t yet noticed I was there, so I slowly crouched down and put my head between my knees, as the safari instructor directed. I knew they were closing in, I could hear it. The tormenting sound of their feet and hands hitting the tropical forest floor made the beat of my heart distracting. So many thoughts and ideas and scenarios were running through my head, I couldn't tell them apart. What if the gorillas attack me? What if they all of a sudden decide they want to eat me for lunch? These crazy things were all I could think about as I sat there, as still as a rock, hoping and praying that they wouldn't hear the pounding of my heart. My legs started shaking and I was In fear that they would give out. The gorillas’ footsteps were getting louder, which means they were getting closer. They sounded about two meters away now. What were they going to do to me? Maybe they were nice gorillas, I thought. Not a very big chance of that, especially with the silverback around. The silverback was he father of the entire family; he is the protective one. My own family started flashing through my head, what were they going to do without me? I should have never come on this trip; I’m never going to make it home! The family of gorillas was now surrounding me; I could see feet directly in front of me. My heart skipped a beat; I closed my eyes tight, preparing myself for what was to come next. I felt their hairiness on my back, on my legs, every muscle in body tightening, I have never been so scared. Nothing came. Nothing. I was crouching for the next hour, or so it felt. When I finally felt confident enough to open my eyes and look round, there were no gorillas. They hadn’t noticed me after all. They were just passing through. They must have thought I was a tree or something. My heart was still beating up a storm but I was safe, none of my crazy thoughts happened.

Touched by a Wild Mountain Gorilla - Kyla Wyryha

In Africa, there are lots of safari trips to see and experience many different types of endangered animals. Myself and two other friends decided to go check out the Wild Mountain Gorilla safari. We wanted to see how they lived in captivity. When we got to the building with the gorillas we were surprised how we could walk in and see the gorillas in no cage or anything! Of course no one wanted to go up to one though. Especially when the silverback was around. The gorillas looked like they would easily turn around and whack you with their hairy hands. My friend bent down to tie his shoe and before he could finish the bow, my other friends quietly told him to remain still. Suddenly everyone was looking at the five gorillas, including the silverback, staring down my friend with the untied shoe. He slowly lifted his head and you could see the fear rush over his face as he made eye contact with the silverback. I quickly handed my video camera to my friend and told him to get this on tape. The gorillas slowly made their way to my friend with the untied shoe and surrounded him. My friends and I were watching cautiously. My friend with the untied shoe then slowly tried to stand up and get away but not even three seconds later he was pushed back down into the crouching position. He now placed his head in his hands and I could tell he was freaking out on the inside. The next thing that happened was unexpected. The gorilla directly behind my friend with the untied shoe leaned forward and began hugging him. One by one the other gorillas, including the silverback, began hugging him until they formed on big group hug. My friend with the untied shoe then looked up at us and smiled. We all smiled back and then the gorillas began letting go and the silverback lead a train of gorillas down the path. My friend then tied his shoe and ran to us and hugged us. He claimed that he thought he was going to die and regretted coming on this safari but then his mindset completely changed once the gorillas embraced him. Later that day, we all watched the video and laughed at how things can be so unexpected.

The Gorilla Institute - Koko Sonoyama

In a certain place, there was a gorilla institute. There were about 10 gorillas there. The 10 gorillas were 1 group’s members. The group was composed of 3 families. The group had a leader. The leader walked in the institute with the group. The institute was huge, so they could move freely there. This institute was built for just gorillas. The researchers took the image of the gorilla and they used the image to research about gorillas everyday. They researched gorilla’s character, strength, and intellect as they watched the images. However, the institute couldn’t progress because the theme of study was very common. That’s why the institute was not famous and a society thought this institute studied boring theme everyday, and paid no attention to the people from this institute. Keeping the environment in the institute was not easy, so it needed more money. However, a society thought to support this institute was wastefulness, so the institute couldn’t get money to keep there. The head of institute was thinking of how to keep this institute, and the head thought they needed an able researcher. One day, a super researcher appeared in the institute. He was invited to this institute by the head. He could speak with gorillas. The researcher spoke with gorillas’ leader immediately. He heard the gorilla’s voice. The gorillas had a question. The gorilla asked why gorillas have the big canine tooth. The researchers didn’t know why. There was no researcher who could answer this question. The researchers started to research this question as soon as listen to this gorilla’s question. The researcher thought to lose gorilla’s canine tooth. Actually, gorillas are herbivores. They eat leaves, stalks, fruits, and insects. The canine tooth is essentially for predatory animals, so gorillas maybe don’t need it. Therefore, the researcher put a cover of canine tooth and can’t use canine tooth when gorillas eat something. Gorillas could eat leaf, fruits, and insects, but they couldn’t eat stalks. Gorillas were in trouble when they ate stalk. Stalks are very hard, so they couldn’t eat if they don’t have canine tooth. Gorillas knew why they have canine tooth by this experiment. Gorillas knew to use the canine tooth when they eat stalk. Then, in this institute, the researchers still study about gorillas as they adopt gorillas’ questions and opinions like this case. That’s why the researchers could study questions that have never noticed in the world. The research was recognized by the public, this institute progressed very fast. The researchers discovered a lot of new things, or they were known by gorillas, so the society admired this institute and gave a huge amount of financial aid. Now, this institute remodeled using the financial aid. Actually, the number of this kind of gorilla had decreased, but now, in this institute, gorillas could live more freely, so the number of gorillas increased. The super researcher continued to speak with gorillas, and he performed interpretations, so other researchers got along with gorillas. The researchers and gorillas are helping one another nowadays. They still continue to study gorillas and discovered something. K

War Makes Nothing - Masahiro Sakuramoto

There once was a beautiful wood here, largest wood in Africa. That was over 50 years ago. Now it is just a dry, flat wasteland. There are used to be a peaceful forest. There are many the scars of war. “How do you think that wood?” scientist A said. “I think there are much resources, and the wood is a good place to research.” Scientist B said. Human beings began to invade the wood in order to examine the wood and Gorillas. Then, scientists took many pictures at the wood. “We have to chase the human beings!!!!!” leader of gorillas said. Gorillas gathered the forest for council of war. They decided to fight against human beings. They were invaded by human beings. Human beings set fire to a part of the forest, and gorillas got angry to human beings. “We can do it!!!” gorillas screamed. Gorillas’ scream is scattered by the autumn wind. In middle night, Gorillas attacked a research institute and they sat fire to the research institute. Gorillas succeeded in the attempt and they managed to chase human beings from the wood. However, human beings retaliated against the gorillas. They used the newest weapon, and tragic war began. In the end, human beings and gorillas disappeared into the ashes.

To be in Rapport with Gorillas - Mikino Kobayashi

A person who is interested in animals went on a Safari. He was researching small animals for a long time. As time passed, he changed his mind without reason. Then, he started to study big animals. He is enthusiastic about just his researching, and also, he is selfish. Also, he published his book, which is about gorillas. The air is very dry, and there are many mountains in this pert of Africa. He looked for big animals. It was really hot, so he often wiped his hands on a towel. At last, he found a group of gorillas in forest. They have about 12 gorillas included one leader. The leader is really strong, and aggressive. Another gorillas came after the leader, and they were walking while looking around restlessly. The man looked at their moves from the back. He followed them calmly while hiding and taking pictures. Also, he is an excellent photographer. Then, the group of gorillas found food, and they tried to get them using their brain. The man was preoccupied with the group of gorilla, so he could not look around carefully. He just heard animal’s voice. He was enthusiastic about the group of gorillas even if there were many beautiful birds and trees. Also, an insect bit him, but he continued to follow them. Then, the group of gorilla found bananas, which they liked very much, and ate together. He took many pictures. A moment or two later, the group of gorillas noticed that someone was following them, and they found the man when they looked back. They came near him suddenly, because he is also gorilla. He disguised himself as the gorilla. It is easy to disguise, because he is really famous researcher, and he is quite familiar with animals. The group of gorillas thought that he is our friend. As time goes by, he and the group of gorillas got along. He stayed till he could understand gorilla’s feelings. They understood each other, and he looked like the gorilla. One day, problem happened to the man. The group of gorillas noticed that he is not gorilla, and just human. He was afraid that they would kill him. However, they did not kill. They looked pleased. As he gave them something to eat and playing, they liked him. That was why they did not kill him. They knew each other after a great many years even if they are human and the group of gorillas. However, he did not forget about researching gorillas. He studied a lot while getting along with gorillas.

All is Different - by Sara Keam

Today was what I thought would be a normal day in the jade green forest that blankets the mountains of my home, but it wasn’t the case. The musty scent of the morning dew, still speckling the leaves of the midsummer afternoon, only remained from hiding away from the sun’s harsh rays by shade. The loosely packed earth under my feet absorbed my weight at each step. The birds in the branches overhead chirped boisterously, each singing their own song so unique in every note, pitch, tempo, and tone. Each flower, although they look the same as the one beside it, are unique, just like each of us. Little Ishmael, most would say, looks just like his brother. But they are not the same; Ishmael is a clown unlike his brother. He has more energy and often runs about around us. His brother, Dafari is more curious and has been known to get into all sorts of trouble because of it, and as usual today was the same case. I brought my family out walking like we normally d at this time, stopping to eat a few snacks here and there when suddenly our small group joined another. Or more like their group joined us. I will be honest, being the father, that I had my speculations about these strange beings. I knew what they were capable of. I had heard from many tales that have been passed down from my great grandfather to my grandfather and from my grandfather to my father. And in turn, he told me these stories of yore. I was too lost in thought to have realized that my son, Dafari had gone up to one of these strange beings that were traveling in the back, with odd black things around their necks that they pointed at us. Although they didn’t seem to be doing any harm, I still didn’t want my son, first born of the twins, to be going right up to one. Reluctantly, I watched as he sniffed the peach-being who sat there motionlessly, unmoving and unnerved. I walked up to the nervous being and just like how I would comfort my own children I sat down behind him, pushing my son gently t sit down as well. We sat there for a while and after some time the being seemed to relax, while the others around us seemed greatly stunned, pointing their odd objects at us. I wouldn’t blame them. I would be too it I was in the presence of my stunning glory, with my sparkling silver back and rugged build. And after a bit, with a soft grunt, I told my family that it was time to head back home. And with that, we got up and I left them behind. These beings, are different from the stories just like each bird’s songs, the flowers that bloom in the jungle around us, and my family. And just because some of their kind may have done something wrong in the past does not mean that I should blame these particular ones, and perhaps I shall be a role model for them. Unlike most, I know how to see the uniqueness of this world. I cant help but smile as I lead my family back into the thick underbrush as we leave these friendly beings behind. They are my friends...and we are theirs. We are all a part of this world, so we must share it and live with our differences, else there’s no way that we will all survive.
