This week I wanted to share a video I made for my Comprehension class. We are just finishing a unit on FOOD, and the unit project is to demonstrate a favorite recipe... so I decided to make a cooking video. Last Wednesday night I made Mexican tostadas and Summer videotaped me doing it. It's rather funny, if I say so myself, so I wanted to show it to you. Unfortunately, the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray. (That means, no matter how well you plan something, things can always go wrong!) First of all, we tried to transfer the video from the camera to a VHS tape, but the VCR broke. Then, I thought I'd put it on the computer and make my own DVD, but I was missing a cable I needed. ...So I went to Yamada Denki and bought a cable, but when I came home and tried to use it, I realized that I was missing another important cable... Needless to say, I did not make a DVD that night. Luckily, Caleb showed me how to connect my camera to the VCR at school, so we were able to watch the video in class. Phew!
So my point is, though I wanted to show you my cooking video, it is still not available. In the meantime, though, please take a look at the SUSHI video in the sidebar. It was produced by a Japanese comedy team called "The Rahmens". It's quite funny and at times absurd, but very well produced, I think. Enjoy. and tell me what you think.
P.S. It's subtitled in English, but is funnier if you also listen to the Japanese commentator.

Oh!!!! I know this video! Caleb showed me in a class when I was a first year student. After that class, I went back home, and watched it many many times!!!! It is soooo funny! I like it very much!! And I think it has a good structure, too!
By the way, I want to see your cooking video, but I'm not good at a computer. Sorry... I can't help you. I'm looking forward to see it!

Yes, I know what "Ramens" is! My favorite one is "tradition Japan" or something. In that DVD, they say that Japanese people use Oshibori, wet towel, to wipe hands, face, table(!), and everything..
I think it is ridiculous and very funny! I am glad you introdused them to the class.
is this movies sushi saho real??!! the scene that people dipped sushi in shoyu was soooooo terible and also, the scene people ate sio at the entrance... its not a good manner!!! it was sooooo fanny and cheesy!!
mari

It is very wrong with real Japanese tradition!! It was funny, but I don't want foreigner to misunderstand about Japan. However, it's so interesting that I will check another funny movies.

I have watched the video, but I enjoyed it again^^It's really funny as many times I watch.
If foreighers watch this video,I wonder they believe this custom is true and if they visit Japan, they really do so like "Mada yatte ru??"
I'm worried about that a little^^;
It was funny to watch "sushi" movie!! So, I want to know how you find that movie. And, I would like to watch other Ramens movie ,too.
It's amazing video xD
I have watched it once!!
It's funny if I watch it again and again!!!
This video teases Japanese culture, but I didn't think it's terrible video.
This video pointed the charactalistics of Japanese!!:)
I wanna watch other videos like this:D
Are there other countries' version video??
It was really funny video.
I have seen it before, but I still love it.
I wanna see other kinds of videos.
It was really funny.
The man's serious face expression was funny.
I want to watch more!
Althogh mannes are not true, i think, the video is so funny!
I just wonder many foreigners think it is true....but I love this kind of funny videos!!
The reasons we think "Japanese Tradition" is funny are as fallows:
1.Things are half true and half awfully wrong! If everything was wrong, it's not as fuuny as it is.
2.It looks lika piece of serious informatial video of Jananese culture to foreign people which is made to HELP them, however, it is vice versa. The actors are acting monotone.
3.Ironically, some thing is greatly exaggerated. (ex. dipping too much soy sauce).
4.Not harmfully sending any massage.
i am sooo sad if other people misundertand Japanese cuture!!
"toro" is not junk food and is not low quality food!!!!
Sushi video was really really interesting for me!!!!!
I want to try to watch another videos.
I wonder whether foreign people think Japanese "sushi" so.
The realization differences between countries are interesting!
I watched this video for the first time. I couldn't help laughing at this one. When I got back home, I watched it again with my family.( Mari taught me how to access "you Tube".)Thank you for introducing this video to us.
Yes, I think most people will realize it's a joke... but a lot of Americans I know use too much soy sauce, so maybe they'll believe that part!
I had never seen such a funny video about "sushi"!
Most American believe that Japanese eat sushi like that!?
But it's really interesting...I want to watch other videos!
I want to watch that video.
